Fundraising Event to Support Mennonite Central Committee
Saturday, November 7, 2015 | 6:00 p.m.
Valley Community Presbyterian Church
Join us for an evening of music and story telling, to benefit the Mennonite Central Committee’s work in behalf of relief, development, and peace, all undertaken in the name of Christ.
Special guests include popular Canadian musical duo Kim Thiessen and Darryl Neustadter Barg, whose CDs and concert appearances have raised more than $700,000 for MCC during the past decade. Click here to hear a selection of their music.
Abe Janzen will tell inspiring stories about MCC’s efforts to break down walls, both literal and figurative, that separate people from each other and represent barriers to Christ’s Kingdom on earth and to replace those barriers with communities of mutual respect and support.
This event is the MAJOR FALL FUNDRAISING EVENT sponsored by the Twin Cities MCC Relief Sale board, replacing the traditional relief sale that we have held for the past 14 years. We aim to raise a similar dollar amount to support MCC programs, but in a more efficient fashion. Some traditional elements from past sales will be retained:
* a mini-auction, including Minnesota-Wisconsin football tickets and a weeks’ stay in a Colorado mountain home
* a bake sale, plus frozen vereniki, prieschke, and sausage available for bulk sale
* pie guys, plus cake ladies this year
Be sure to bring your check book or credit card. Please consider using checks to limit our credit card expenses. The TCMCC Board will be reaching out, asking TCMCC world relief supporters to continue to contribute without having to purchase many items and spend all day at a Sale.
RSVP: Reservations are requested. Please respond by October 5th. Seating is limited to 120 people, reservations will be filled on a first come, first served basis. If someone doesn’t call you first, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 763.427.4468.
